Cost-effective fibre optic transmission solution

The Teleste CFO Series offers a cost-effective and latency-free composite video fibre optic transmission solution for PAL, NTSC and SECAM video systems with standard-definition resolution. Beside video operation, the CFO series also offers versatile interfaces for additional audio, data and contact closure channels. The latest design models also provide built-in Fast Ethernet Bridge connectivity.

Real time end to end operation

The CFO modems utilize dedicated fibre optic cables and hence digitally processed but yet uncompressed PAL & NTSC video signals are not facing any bandwidth issues. Although some basic analog-to-digital conversion is being made there are no complicated algorithms applied. This enables a near real-time operation from end to end. The fibre optic media as such offers an EMI immune and interference-free operation.

Easy configuration for various transmission distances and fibre cables

A typically available optical link budget for a standard CFO link with fixed optics is around 20 dB in SM fibre (corresponding distance of 40–50 km). Those CFO modem models containing slot for swappable SFP transceivers can be easily configured for various transmission distances and fibre cable types.

Low-energy design

The CFO family is based on a low-energy design. All rack-card combinations are possible in a 3RU 19” installation rack. Redundant powering is an option. Units have passive cooling and can typically meet -34 to +74 °C operation temperature.
